WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I am William van der Veld, and I am working at the University of Amsterdam at the department of Communication Science, and I am associated with the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR). My interests are in the field of political communication and public opinion research.

I live in a small village in the middle of The Netherlands near the river Rhine with Debbie, our son Maximus, and our dog Indy. Together with my dog I daily enjoy the picturesque surroundings when I walk across the dikes over viewing the beautiful river forelands ('uiterwaarden'). You can find some pictures of the surroundings in the photo album.

I also play field hockey at 'Stichtse' with largely the same people that I met in the legendary 'Here 2 der USHC' more than a decade ago. It is funny to watch our games, because the tactics, the comments, the moves, etc. have not changed across the years. Although, most of us are much slower, heavier, and thinking that we are still in our twenties, whereas for most of us 40 glooms.
